This weather has me feeling Parisian this afternoon as I walk around Fitler Square. The return of plaid has made its comeback but has always been a classic wardrobe staple. Beret hats- I’m totally down for this trend, because why not. I thought I would do a little research on plaid since I do not know the historical significance… #nerdalert.
Plaid–originally coined as “Tartan” pays its first homage to the Scottish. Tartan was used to decorate and establish different patterns for clothes. The Irish clans also used it for warmth. It wasn’t until later that after British and American manufacturers got a hold of it decided to replicate the material and patterns without holding such symbolic meaning.
